Idomeni Refugee Camp 2016.
Idomeni was a major makeshift refugee camp that originated out of the journey north being slowed by the then FYROM (now North Macedonia) erecting a border fence along its border. The camp lay beside a railway line that crossed the border prior to the borders closure. Here refugees stand in the rain wearing raincoats, waiting for a train to pass. When I took this photograph, I felt the solemnity of the situation depicted the halting of their journey and a world that didn’t hear.
